Now You Can Stay in the Castle Where “The Crown” Films Windsor Castle Scenes

Standing in for Windsor Castle on the Netflix series “The Crown,” Belvoir Castle in England looks like your childhood dreams of a castle come to life. And if you still have those dreams of being royal (even for a day), you’re in luck: for a limited time, the grounds can be your ultimate playground, no regal lineage necessary.

Belvoir Castle will be hosting one-night stays in its luxurious King’s Castle on three separate dates: Dec. 31, 2019, Jan. 11, 2020, and Jan. 25, 2020.  Starting Dec. 20 (aka this Friday), guests can book their stay in the grand suite exclusively through Airbnb, which was originally built for royalty and productions like “The Crown.”

Guests will begin the royal treatment the moment they arrive at the Duchess of Rutland’s home. Start with a delicious afternoon tea within the very grounds where the tradition is said to have originated back in the 1840s. After settling into the grand suite—a three-room situation that’s adorned with opulent, regal interiors—guests will have dinner served in the State Dining Room. The opulence will continue to flow into an after-dinner reception in The Library, as seen in “The Crown.”

The Duchess of Rutland said in the press release: “The King’s Suite is a truly unique space with a fascinating history, so I am very excited to share it with guests for the first time on Airbnb. One couple in particular over New Year’s Eve will get to ring in the new decade in a truly unforgettable style. Whether you’re drawn to the incredible Regency architecture, want to experience the lavish royal lifestyle or simply follow in the footsteps of your favorite stars, a stay at Belvoir is sure to provide a memorable experience.”

This lavish experience for two guests is available at a rate of £300 (roughly $400 USD). Not only will you enjoy this once-in-a-lifetime treatment, but you will also be helping others as well: Belvoir Castle will be donating proceeds from these stays to Rainbows Hospice for Children and Young People.
