Name: Theresa & Marjo
Location: Atwater Village, CA

The house was built in 1928 and there are so many parts that we want to gently tear down and rebuild. We did, however, decided to renovate the kitchen and that was a 6 week journey partly due to our committing to the idea of an all-white kitchen. It’s the first room in our house that we renovated and has become our proudest home project.

If you ever visit our home, you’ll notice that everything has meaning, and is also utilitarian but possesses art, beauty, and function. We’re east coast transplants but when we moved into our home in the Atwater Village neighborhood in Los Angeles, we quickly fit nice and squishy on the west coast. Our home is not gender-specific but our style relies on a neutral color palette with vibrant splashes of reds, oranges and blues.

Our home represents a little bit of all the places we’ve lived in (SF, NY and now LA) the places we have travelled to (Peru, Turkey, Europe, Egypt, Latin America) and our heritage.

Thanks, Theresa & Marjo!
