This Diptyque Candle Advent Calendar Is Absurdly Luxurious—And It’s Now Available at Nordstrom

Advent calendars are not just for kids, dogs, and cats (yes, that’s right — we have Trader Joe’s to thank for those last two). They’re also for the full-grown adult who has fully internalized the motto “treat yourself.” Especially the luxurious ones, like, say, the $425 Diptyque advent calendar filled with 25 days of mini candles, perfumes, creams, and more.

The Diptyque Paris website calls this “a case of wonders and surprises.” Here’s what else it has to say:

“25 little pleasures, and so many lucky charms to discover every day before the holidays. The 2019 Advent Calendar brings together in a colorful setting emblematic products in various sizes. It features candles, eau de toilette, eau de parfum and skincare products.”

Those treasures include 35-gram candles in the scents Lilies, Hookah, Berries, Tuberose, Fig Tree, Roses, Pomander, Sandalwood, Lily of the Valley, Firewood, Verbena, Amber, and Benzoin. 

Wearable scents include eaux de parfum Fleur de Peau, 34, and Eau de Minthé, as well as eaux de toilette Vetyverio, Do Son, Tam Dao, and L’Ombre dans l’Eau.

The box itself looks inspired by children’s books with its primary colors-plus-green palette and animal-and-insect motifs. It’s beautiful enough to keep, and because it’s not the kind of advent calendar you have to destroy in order to open, you can keep it past the holidays to hold all your tiniest belongings.

An advent calendar this luxurious is truly a treat, bordering on the absurd (which doesn’t make us want it less). While the calendar has been available for pre-order on Diptyque’s site for a few weeks, it’s now finally available at Nordstrom.
