Why we have a crush on this property
In my experience, some of the most astonishing ‘60s and ‘70s interiors are hidden inside seemingly average-looking houses. That’s certainly the case for this groovy spot in Burlington, Colorado, which is on the market for just $71 per square foot.
The three-bedroom brick home appears unassuming from the street. But inside, it unleashes a wave of colors and textures, thanks to blazing orange shag carpets, wood paneling, and more.
The home is anchored by a large open-concept kitchen and living room, where there’s a zebra-striped island, a fireplace, vaulted ceilings, and “plenty of room for pool tables,” per the listing. A separate dining area juts off the living room, as does an in-home bowling alley. One lane stretches the length of a long hallway — a perfect amenity for quarantining at home, if you ask me.
Elsewhere in this throwback of a house, you’ll find a carpeted bathroom with a cherry red clawfoot tub, a bedroom with red-and-gold damask wallpaper, more funky carpets, and touches of orange throughout. Outside, there are two garages and a large patio.
The place is listed for $298,000 by Jessica Fisher with RE/MAX Realty East. You can see the full listing here.
