This Weekend: Help Keep Yourself Up And Running This Holiday
No one wants to live life in a hyper-paranoid state, and some things we have to accept as out of our control. But when it comes spreading sickness in our own households, a small amount of extra care can make a big difference between catching a cold or flu, and staying healthy. This weekend we’re going to clean the places where germs like to hide— especially these two spots.
This Weekend’s Assignment: Get in there and clean those spaces where germs love to linger.
Germs can survive on hard surfaces for up to 24 hours, so keep that in mind if you wish to maintain your vigilance throughout cold and flu season.
Cleaning doorknobs and light switch plates is something I prefer to do with a disinfecting wipe because my main purpose is to eradicate germs.
Grab a container of disinfecting wipes. I like these best. Go through your house room by room, cleaning first the light switch plates and switches and then the door knobs on both sides of every door. Don’t forget door knobs on closet doors and the handles on shower doors.
When you’re in the bathrooms, go ahead and swipe the toilet handle as well. In any room with faucets, give those a once-over also. When you get to the kitchen, address additional touch points there, such as the refrigerator and microwave handles.
Change your disinfecting wipe frequently, so you’re not inadvertently spreading germs.
