Back in 2020, a handful of TikTokers began showing their followers how to make DIY cloud walls and ceilings using LED light strips, poster board, and a whole bunch of polyester fiberfill. The trend went viral and it’s perfect for the upcoming Halloween season.

TikTok user Aurélie Bouti (@aureliestoryy) has been posting videos of her media center cloud wall, and the ambiance it’s creating is just right for spooky season.

TikToker @harrissama posted a four-part tutorial on how to create a custom cloud installation. He used about 30 poster boards and a bunch of Command strips to cover his entire ceiling. Then, he attached his LED light strips in a haphazard design and used 10 to 15 bags of Poly-fil to cover the strips using an adhesive spray.

And if you really want to go for it as Aurélie did with her media center, you can grab a set of LED light strips that are controlled via an app like the Govee LED lights on Amazon. The app will allow you to create your own light patterns that respond to music and sound, just like the “Stranger Things” theme music.
