If you’re looking for a new set of vases for your home, West Elm is selling a lovely collection that’s priced at $140 for three. If you’re looking for similar look that you can make yourself, look no further than TikTok.

The social media platform has proven that it is not only where you can watch viral dance moves, but also where you can save money through all kinds of hacks. User @thedioxxalela, for instance, shows everyone a dupe for West Elm’s Pure Black Ceramic Vases for only $12 — that is, if you don’t already have these common supplies at home already.

The process is pretty simple. The first step is to visit your nearest dollar store and pick out three glass vases from their wide selection (or grab some unused vases you have lying around the house), as well as a container of baking powder (not soda). Then, head on over to a craft store and buy a bottle of black paint and two paintbrushes.

Now, the artsy part. Begin by mixing the baking powder with the black paint, and keep stirring until you get a grainy, frothy consistency. Use short, horizontal strokes to give the vases texture, making sure to paint both the inside and outside with two coats. The result? The same collection of vases, but for a lot cheaper. Don’t forget to add colorful flower bouquets for contrast.

The hack takes a bit of effort and patience, but your wallet will be grateful.
