This Tiny Brooklyn Studio’s Got a Ginormous, Glossy Black Fireplace

Charlotte Moche has rented this Crown Heights studio apartment for a month, and pays $2150 a month in rent: I live in my studio apartment with my cat and work from home as a software engineer. I like to cook and bake and make art. My cat likes to sleep and eat.

Describe your home’s style in five words or fewer: Clean and cozy.

What is your favorite room and why? My desk corner. I get to work by the window and watch the rain on the ivy on the apartment across the way.

What’s the last thing you bought (or found!) for your home? I bought the book shelf with glass shelves. I wanted something that separated the bed a bit but didn’t block the light.

Any advice for creating a home you love? Be intentional about what you bring into the space.
