Remember the opening scenes of Disney’s “Tangled”? Rapunzel created a whole world in her little space with colors and inspirations. I’d like to think that if she came over, she would instantly understand my decorating perspective. I too use color, through wallpaper, paint, furniture, fresh flowers, and trinkets of our travels to create a space that feels like us.

I also tend to think that if Holly Golightly stopped by for breakfast, she would be taken by the chandeliers I have in every room.

I live with my husband Matt, my son, Sterling James, and our five rescue animals. Our house sits right outside of the city on an acre overlooking the Ohio River.

What is your favorite room and why? My favorite room in our home is our living room. We spend most of our time in this room enjoying views of the river through the floor-to-ceiling windows. I love how light and bright the space is.

Any advice for creating a home you love? Fill it with things you LOVE. I’ve never been one to follow trends in decorating. I believe if you fill your home with objects and colors you love, not thinking about whether or not it goes with a certain style, then you’ll easily create a space that just feels like you. My home is filled with objects we’ve collected traveling around the world. Each piece shares a story of a time in my life.

What’s the last thing you bought (or found!) for your home? I recently purchased a gorgeous nine-foot floor mirror out of a Victorian home. It was the perfect statement piece for our master bedroom. The pink ornate frame pairs well with our aqua walls. I love how much light it reflects in the room!
