Peonies Are Blooming at Trader Joe’s

Spring is fully in bloom at Trader Joe’s right now. TJ’s has brought back their incredibly beautiful pink peonies this year, and they’re a true sign of spring that also look great on your Instagram.

“As much as I like them, I don’t typically post Trader Joe’s amazing selection of flowers…but I absolutely love peonies and was so ecstatic to see them back this year!” @trader.joes.plants wrote in the caption of their June 1 post. “How pretty are these ones? And such a steal at $10 for 5 stems. Who else can’t resist peonies?”

With peonies that look this good, you’ll probably want them to last forever. And there are actually a few ways you can make your peony blooms stay lush for longer.

First, don’t be afraid to pick up a peony bouquet with a lot of buds in it. Once you let these guys soak up water and sunlight for a few days, you’ll have some gorgeous blooms that you get to enjoy from start to finish. 

You can also add a spoonful of granulated sugar to your peonies’ water to act as DIY plant food. Just make sure to switch out the water every other day so bacteria and mold don’t grow.

And when you get your bouquet of Trader Joe’s peonies home, make sure to recut the stems at a 45-degree angle. This will help the stems absorb more water and nutrients.
