My fiancé and I recently moved from Sydney, Australia to Nashville, TN and we are so excited to share our home with you!

Sydney to Nashville was a very big move, and it was incredibly overwhelming to figure out how to logistically move around the world. So in the end, we decided to sell most of our belongings in Sydney and start fresh in the USA.

Sam is Australian, but I’m originally from Indiana so we were lucky to stay with my family while looking for a new home. Having never lived in Nashville, and only visited a handful of times, we decided to start off with renting. Our list was fairly short – lots of bright, natural light, a yard with plenty of space and two extra rooms for our home studios. (I’m a photographer and Sam is a songwriter and composer!)

Our style is minimal, mid-century with a little Scandinavian influence, plenty of comfort and a few too many plants. Two of our favorite pieces are the gorgeous leather couch from Article that started our living room design and the vintage record player sideboard, which is always playing a tune. We searched Craigslist religiously for the perfect piece and one night, at 11pm we found it! Sam re-wired the entire piece and it works beautifully now – it even streams Spotify from our phones.

My favorite room is our dining room, where we sit each morning and chat over coffee. The decor is simple with a white table, cowhide rug and DIY leather shelf, but it’s such a nice place to start the day!

I also love our home studios. It’s where we spend most of our time and we’ve both made the rooms our own. Sam’s studio is perfect for writing, with a big comfy couch, guitars on the wall and a standing desk. My office is bright white with framed photos, scattered succulents and twinkle lights above the desk.

Thanks, Lisa!
