Urban Outfitter’s Latest Bedroom Collection Is An Updated Take On ’70s Boho
Once upon a time, Urban Outfitter’s home section was a place to go for inexpensive sleeper couches and duvet covers and not much else. Recently, however, the retailer has expanded its line to include a number of looks at affordable prices. The new Modern Boho collection is one such example. Rather than the “downtown loft” vibe of the UO days of yore, this is all sun-drenched Laurel Canyon bungalow.
With roots in the perennially popular mid-century modern style, wood detailing and faded patterns give it a distinctly ’70s bohemian feel. The vintage look of the collection also means you can buy matching pieces or incorporate it into your own existing decor as you see fit. The neutral earth tones are also great for anyone who is leaning into another trend we’re seeing everywhere: indoor plants galore.
Check out some of the pieces from the new collection below:
Modern Boho Dresser, $799, Ayo Ceramic Circle Table Lamp, $119 $89
The multi-level top to this funky dresser makes it great for creating small displays of knick-knacks and treasures. Even below the legs can be an easy storage space for magazines or books, as shown, or shoes.
Maple Printed Rug, $99-$499
We think pink rugs can anchor just about any room, no matter what the existing color scheme.
If pink is a new neutral for the home, gold is one of our long-time go-to’s. This wall hanging packs a visual punch without much effort on your part.
Serape Stripe Floor Pillow, $89 $79
Is it a seat, a foot rest, a very soft side table? When you have a pouf, it can be all three.
And speaking of adaptable furniture, this lightweight side table can also be a stool. If you get more than one, they stack for easy storage.
Modern Boho Platform Bed Frame, $1,299
The neutral, graphic bedspread keeps the 70s look in check, rather than looking like something your parents should have tossed with their platform disco boots (and the waterbed).
Gold accents throughout the collection also help make it feel 21st century-appropriate.
We love a vase that will look decorative even if you forget to keep fresh flowers in it.
Did we mention this look goes great with greenery? Urban wants to be your hookup for those, too.
If all else fails, you can always get that laid-back 70s vibe with an oil diffuser.
