Shopping vintage can be incredibly rewarding, yet equally as frustrating. Not only can it feel like a treasure hunt to find the perfect vintage piece, but oftentimes quality or style can be lacking. Rugs especially can be difficult to source, although several sites have popped up to meet the demand for authentic, gorgeous vintage rugs.

That’s why we were intrigued to learn that genuine vintage rugs were being sold right under our noses on Urban Outfitters. The retailer is known for its boho look for both clothing and home goods, so it makes sense that their rug offerings would reflect this style. But not only do they sell vintageinspired rugs, they also have a curated selection of true one-of-a-kind rugs as a part of their Urban Renewal collection.

Sourced directly from Morocco (and sometimes Turkey), the rugs are hand-picked by the Urban Renewal team from visits to markets and sometimes even the weavers themselves. Not all of them are vintage, but each is guaranteed to be totally unique and authentic. Once selected, the rugs are cleaned and sometimes revived with small tweaks before going on the site. The best part is that the inventory is constantly changing, with new products added every Wednesday and Monday, so if you don’t like the selection one week you can always check back and see what’s been added.

Even if you’re not in the market for a new rug, the Urban Renewal collection features a range of vintage furniture to suit your thrifting needs. Like the rugs, the furniture selection is sourced and curated by the Urban Renewal team, although most of the products aren’t one-of-a-kind. Still, if you love the look of vintage but not the time and patience required for scouting out your picks, this is a great alternative to hopping around antique stores.
