Valspar Named Its 2026 Color of the Year, and It’s a New Neutral You Already Love
Paint companies are continuing to trend forecast for 2026 by announcing their Colors of the Year. The latest comes from Valspar, which is clearly feeling grounding green for the fall and beyond. The brand just designated Warm Eucalyptus (8004-28F), a soft, serene green with slightly cool undertones (despite the name), its 2026 Color of the Year.
Although the shade has its roots in the natural world, Warm Eucalyptus also has a little bit of nostalgia working for it. Inspired by vintage palettes, this hue recalls some of the minty shades of the ’50s and the earthy sages of the ’70s, albeit in a much more modern blend.
Valspar’s Warm Eucalyptus Is the 2026 Color of the Year
Over the past few years green has earned a reputation for being a new neutral, and paint companies have really taken that label to heart. Just last week, Behr named “Hidden Gem,” a smoky jade-like color its Color of the Year, and now Valspar is also doubling down on a color in the green family for its COTY.
Warm Eucalyptus has a quiet intensity, which makes it a super-versatile color. From the collection of images you see here, it’s definitely a hue that’s capable of making a bold statement or whispering in the background.
You could use it as an accent in a relaxing bedroom, or as part of a two-toned paint treatment as shown below. Or let it shine in the kitchen. It’d look great on cabinetry, an island, or on built-ins in just about any room.
You could also paint your bathroom walls Warm Eucalyptus. Green tends to top designers’ paint color lists for baths, particularly lighter greens (after white, of course). It’s also a gorgeous color for an exterior, as it interacts so well with outdoor greenery.
Where to Find Valspar’s Warm Eucalyptus
Warm Eucalyptus, and the rest of Valspar’s offerings, can be purchased at Lowe’s Home Improvement stores. Consider this shade for your next DIY project or room refresh — especially if you’re looking for a familiar yet fresh, energetic yet grounding green.
