Are you a person who has become a little too wrapped up in their corporate “big city” job and needs a reminder about what life is all about while falling in love with a small-town someone along the way? The Village Store in Thetford Center may be the inciting incident you need to greenlight your real-life Hallmark movie.

The Village Store real estate listing recently went viral on Twitter and TikTok because it’s just so perfect. It’s a small convenience store, post office, gas station, and ice cream shop located in the middle of Thetford, Vermont, set against a backdrop of gorgeous foliage and hiking trails. And it’s in need of a new caretaker.

According to the listing on Town & Country Realty Associate’s website, the Village Store is available for continued use as a general convenience store or it can be converted into another commercial use property as permitted by the Town of Thetford.

“In addition to the 1,200+ sq feet for the store, there is monthly rental income (five-year renewable lease) from the US Postal Service which occupies 645 sq ft,” the listing reads. “The store also functions as a wildlife game check-in station for VT hunters. The sale includes land, buildings, some store furniture and equipment, and the business tradename.”

And it’s going for just $159,000.

If a change of pace is calling your name and you’re ready to open up your heart and mind to small-town living, then the Village Store may be your ticket to a Hallmark-approved happily ever after.
