The interior designer, author, and TV star, who is known for his role on the beloved TLC series as well as four seasons of HGTV’s “Deserving Design”, has just listed his four-bed, five-bath home in the Florida town of Rosemary Beach, overlooking the Gulf. And in true HGTV style, Yip transformed the home, which is currently listed by Sotheby’s International Realty at $4.9 million, with a complete redesign.

Featured in the April/May 2022 edition of House Beautiful, the sunny home is an elegant and comfortable embodiment of the Florida vacation home. Meticulously redesigned by Yip, it recently received a new roof, paint inside and out, hardware, light fixtures, and more.

Originally built in 2003, it features a smaller porch on the lower level at the entrance, which is surrounded by lush, tropical landscaping. Inside, a warm kitchen features electric blue cabinetry, quartz countertops, stainless steel appliances and bar seating. Every inch of space is utilized to the best of its ability, with extensive storage and ample counter space. That same energy extends into the combined living/dining area, where sun pours in from the oversized windows. A built-in desk area is ideal for working from home, and has plenty of storage overhead. Two sets of doors open out to the beautiful and roomy balcony that overlooks the boardwalk leading to the beach. Boasting beautiful views of the waves crashing on the shore, it’s the ideal spot to enjoy one’s morning coffee, or a glass of wine as the sun sets over the ocean. The main house, which sleeps 12, has three comfortable bedrooms, as well as a spacious sleepover/entertainment room that sleeps six.

The unique home also has a carriage house with an autonomous guest suite. Great for families traveling together, it has a full kitchen, living room with dining space at the bar, and another bed and bath. It has a one-car garage and stunning Gulf views of its own from the smaller balcony that embraces the beauty of the natural surroundings.

Clearly, the property is already a hot commodity with renters who head to Rosemary Beach for some sun and fun. According to the listing, it has $220,000 in bookings year-to-date for 2022, and is projected to achieve over $280,000 by the end of the year. The peaceful town center is just a block away, and boasts cute shops and restaurants that are great for exploring.

Yip’s approach to design is tangible in the welcoming home.

“Design has the ability to improve your life. Your home should be a functional and aesthetic reflection of you,” he previously told the New York Times while promoting his 2019 book, “Vacation at Home”. “Your home is where you spend the most important times of your life. It should nurture you. It should replenish and take care of you.”
