Name: Vincenzo & Alexandra
Location: Park Slope South, Brooklyn, New York
We bought this top floor apartment six years ago. It was the first we saw and we stopped searching; we fell in love with it right away. We had found what we were dreaming of: light, quiet, new construction, big rooms, and an amazing outdoor space. A place where we could raise a family, have breakfast and supper al fresco, throw sunset cocktail parties and grow plants, trees and an herb garden. |
I’m an artist and my wife is a professor deeply involved with Cuban music. We have recreated the feeling of an old/new Caribbean home by painting the walls with classic Cuban pastel colors that contrast well with the tawny beautiful hardwood floors.
The light changes the colors of the walls with every season and hour of the day. We also love the balcony in the master bedroom; it’s very romantic and we sit there watching the sunset.
We have a huge private roof deck as big as the apartment (1250 square feet) that is accessible from the living room through a nice spiral staircase.
Our little daughters love riding their bicycles up there, swimming in the inflatable pool and simply running around without having to leave the building. And from the roof deck we see Manhattan and the ships on the bay but nobody can see us!
We are selling this very special place now as we’re trying to move to the country (you can visit the listing here); the family is growing. We’ll miss it very very much. There is a good vibe here, a joy…happiness happens in this apartment..
Thanks, Vincenzo & Alexandra!
