This Chicago Rental Brims with Vintage Charm and an “Excessive Amount” of Storage
“When I first toured this apartment, the sun was streaming through all the windows, reflecting off the mirror doors in my living room. I instantly fell in love,” begins Lexy Hope Weixel, a deviser and actor.

“It’s got vintage charm with its hardwood floors and built-in shelves,” Lexy continues. “Not to mention an excessive amount of closet and pantry space. I couldn’t wait to start decorating.”
“My favorite room is my aforementioned living room since it gets the best light during the day, and I love to sit there and let the sunbeams warm me up (my cats love it, too).”
Lexy shares that their style has changed a lot by moving into this apartment. “I used to be full pastels. Think ’80s Art Deco,” Lexy describes. “I loved it, but it wasn’t me anymore and didn’t suit this space. Now, I’m drawn toward darker woods and more of a rustic, eclectic, medieval vibe.”
“However, my office is still very much bright space-age vibes to escape the perils of working from home,” Lexy admits. “I’m sure in a few more years this apartment will look different, and I’m excited to see how my style continues to evolve.”
