Vrbo Is Selling Vacation-Inspired Doghouses

While taking your four-legged friend on vacation may not be on your agenda, why not bring the vacation to them? Vacation rental marketplace Vrbo, which recently released its 2022 travel trend report, is giving our furry friends the chance to own a one-of-its-kind vacation home that’s sure to get tails wagging. It recently commissioned a special set of five limited-edition doghouses inspired by the platform’s most popular rental types—a chic chalet with a cozy fireplace for nap time; a light and breezy beach cottage with a rooftop checkerboard; a rustic A-frame that’s made for adventures; a modern ranch house with a water and food station; and a groovy mid-century modern bungalow with a dog pool and garden—that will allow pups to relax in style.

Pet parents can book to buy one of these fun doghouses on Dec. 9 from 12 p.m. CST at vrbo.com/petholiday. Each house will cost $100, but you’ll have to be quick—there’s only one of each style available.

“We’ve asked a lot of our homes this year and could all use a much-needed break for the holidays. While humans can easily book a Vrbo property for a relaxing escape, our pets also deserve a relaxing place to rest their paws,” said Alison Kwong, a Vrbo spokesperson. “Families love bringing their pets along on vacation and staying at pet-friendly vacation homes together—we’ve seen a 40% increase in demand for pet-friendly vacation homes on Vrbo. With this limited-time-only set of dreamy doghouses, families can treat their loyal companions to an extra-special dog-sized stay this holiday season.”

Vrbo will be donating the proceeds of the sales, plus an additional $10,000, to the Best Friends Animal Society to help fund shelters and pets in need.
