Walmart and Angi Have Partnered to Provide Experts to Do Your Home Projects for You
The next time you head to Walmart, you’ll be able to buy your new flat screen TV and hire a professional from Angi to install it all at the same time. As of Jan. 31, Walmart and Angi launched a collaboration that puts Angi experts in 4,000 Walmart stores nationwide that “will soon be available” to help shoppers complete over 150 common home projects like flooring, painting, plumbing, electrical, TV mounting, furniture assembly, and more.
For simpler tasks, such as assembling furniture, prices start at just $49, and each service comes with the Angi Happiness Guarantee, which covers projects up to their full purchase price.
“Since the start of the pandemic, the home is in focus and people across the U.S. are doing more home improvement, maintenance and repair work and they are often turning to Walmart to find the tools and materials needed to start those projects,” Oisin Hanrahan, CEO, Angi, said in a press release. “Things like sprucing up an entertaining space by installing a new smart TV, painting a nursery for a family addition, and transforming an outdoor space and adding a patio are now projects that Walmart customers can get done seamlessly with the help of an Angi pro as part of the Walmart shopping experience.”
This isn’t the first collaboration of its kind; back in 2018, IKEA launched a similar partnership with Taskrabbit.
Angi services can be purchased at Walmart either in-store or by going online and purchasing an eligible item. Once the item is purchased, Angi will reach out to plan your service booking and complete the task at hand. Larger projects like flooring and painting require Walmart customers to request a quote and find an Angi pro with the help of a project advisor.
