A few months ago, my new roommate moved into my apartment — and a new roomie naturally meant a mini home refresh for our shared spaces. I wanted to make the place feel more grown-up and maximize every square inch (as all New York City apartment-dwellers do), all while keeping things affordable. We hit all the usual go-to spots, but I was pleasantly surprised that my favorite furniture find came from Walmart.

Along with the mini makeover I also upgraded my TV, which meant I needed a new media console to match. Although I know many shoppers are pretty familiar with the art of finding gems from Walmart, in all honesty the retailer isn’t usually my first stop when I’m shopping for larger furniture pieces.

However, the Better Homes & Gardens Juliet Curved TV Stand completely surprised me. It’s priced at just $168, comes in at 30 inches tall, and is available in three wood finishes (black, light honey, and walnut). It immediately caught my eye!

What I Love About Walmart’s Better Homes & Gardens Juliet Curved TV Stand

The beautifully curved edges are the golden factor; they give the piece a sculptural, designer feel that looks far more expensive than it is. While I can’t speak to the assembly process (shout-out to TaskRabbit!), even with that fee included the total came in at under $250 — still a fraction of what a comparable designer console would cost.

Beyond looks, it’s also incredibly functional. The console perfectly complements my 55” TV (and can accommodate screens up to 75”), and feels sturdy enough to support a substantial amount of weight without any wobbling. Thoughtful details like the built-in cord cutouts in the back make it easy to keep cables tucked away, which helps maintain that streamlined, clutter-free look minimalists dream of.

The top surface has ample room for styling decor like vases, lamps, and candles. Below that, there’s a wide open shelf that’s ideal for displaying my coffee table books. And at the bottom, two roomy cabinets — each with adjustable interior shelving — are perfect for hiding tech, miscellaneous items, and even my extra glassware.

If you’re searching for a high-end media console or new centerpiece that won’t break the bank, don’t sleep on this Walmart pick. It’s proof that great design doesn’t always come with a luxury price tag. Plus, it freed up my budget for other home upgrades! And if you can’t get enough, there’s also a matching coffee table and bookcase within the collection.
