Walmart Is Releasing a Furniture Line With Gap, And It’s the Perfect Blend of Mid-Century, Americana, and Scandi Modern Styles
Following on the heels of their dreamy home decor line released earlier this year, Gap is deepening its relationship with Walmart with a brand-new — and super chic — furniture collaboration. The collection will consist of more than 150 furniture items, including couches, ottomans, TV stands, headboards, and rugs with nods to Scandinavian and mid-century modern styles in terms of silhouettes and finishes.
Featuring Gap’s signature color palette (hello, denim blues, tans, and leathery camel browns!), standout pieces in the Gap Home Furniture range include the Upholstered Barrel Chair in navy ($179), the Washed Denim Curtain Pair (Starting at $19.98), and the Chevron Striped Textured Indoor Area Rug in navy (Starting at $99.98). Many of the items are made using sustainable materials like organic cottons and recycled polyester, meaning those competitive price points are all the more impressive. In lieu of busy prints and jarring color combinations, the line really hones in on natural fibers, soothing tones, and textural textiles, as evidenced by the lookbook images you’ll see below. Prices top out at $629, meaning everything — including sofas! — is well under $1,000.
“Our customers have been spending more time in — and investing more in — their homes,” said Anthony Soohoo, executive vice president of home at Walmart U.S., in a press release announcing the Gap Home Furniture range. “This nesting trend is one we anticipate continuing, and we are committed to offering Walmart shoppers a wide variety of accessible, on-trend styles so that a beautiful home is possible for everyone. Gap Home is a key part of this effort, and there is so much more to come.”
To complement the new furniture range, Gap Home is also introducing a capsule collection of new bedding styles ideal for keeping warm throughout the winter — think cozy quilts and comforters in soft jersey knits. Gap Home’s new introductions and Gap Home Furniture will be rolled out across Walmart.com and in select stores across the country in the coming weeks, just in time for any home refreshes you’re planning before the holidays and gift-giving season proper.
