Do you have a love/hate thing with your window A/C unit? Love overfloweth when it’s hell hot in the summer, and then the hate kicks in during winter when it’s nothing but an ugly appliance that lets in cold air. Let yourself get excited when it’s finally time to either: a) remove it from the window entirely; or b) cover that baby and forget about it for awhile.

This Weekend’s Assignment: Put your home’s cooling systems to bed for the winter.

Store or Insulate Your Window Unit: The gaps around air conditioner units cause major energy loss.
