Making over your home is easier than ever, thanks to the ability to order almost anything you need online. Want to buy a new sofa? You can order one with a couple of clicks. Ready for new art? You can buy paintings, prints, and more without leaving your home. And if you want to paint a room? Well, you can buy your paint online, too.

It’s a well-known fact that a fresh coat of paint can do wonders for a space, whether we’re talking about an accent wall or a complete overhaul. But if trekking out to your local home improvement store is too much of a chore, we’ve got great news — you can totally make a color change in your apartment without even leaving your couch! Here are six companies that will deliver paint to your door for your next project, plus more on the other supplies you’ll need to get the job done.

Have you had paint delivered before? Have a company you love that’s not on this list? Let us know in the comments below!

Shop Lick for custom-made color palettes.

Lick’s selection of paint is categorized by color, mood, room, and finish. If you know what room you’re painting and what range of color interests you the most, Lick does a great job at providing visual descriptions of each color. You can also use their filter system to select the room you want to paint as well as the finish, palette, room orientation, and color. But the real highlight is the Lick Colors Tool, which you can plug into your Pinterest board to help identify a curated list of paint colors based off your selected images.

All of Lick’s paint is water-based and low-VOC. Prices per gallon start at $70.

Shop Magnolia Home Paint for specialized coatings for interiors, cabinets, trim, and exteriors.

Magnolia Home is probably a familiar name to anyone who’s watched any amount of HGTV since the 2010s. The brand, founded by Chip and Joanna Gaines of Fixer Upper fame, offers a range of premium coatings suited to various purposes. There is, of course, an interior paint line, but they also offer a specialized paint for trim, doors, and cabinetry as well as a paint for exterior surfaces. The colors are what you’d expect from modern farmhouse royalty, with shades ranging from versatile neutrals to rich-yet-soft blues, greens, oranges, and yellows. Prices per gallon start at $55.

Magnolia Home also offers a chalk-style paint, a matte-finish coating that’s ideal for wood furniture. It’s offered in quart sizes, with prices starting at $37 per quart.

Shop Farrow & Ball for designer-favorite paint colors.

Farrow & Ball, a longtime designer-favorite brand, offers a collection of 132 signature colors in a water-based, low-VOC formula. The brand is known for complex colors that have a tendency to shift depending on the light, so it’s best to order sample pots before deciding on a shade. (Note that if you buy two sample pots, you can get one for free.)

The company offers other helpful ways to decide on your color selection, including a free color card that showcases their available paints as well as a virtual or in-person color consultation (these start at $250 per hour). Paints are available in eight finishes, and prices start at $120 per gallon.

Shop Clare for zero-VOC paints.

Clare’s 70 wall colors are organized by undertone — helpful when you know you’re looking for colors that look good with decor and paint colors you already have. An online quiz will match you with a color option based on factors like the type of room you’re planning to paint, size, lighting in the space, and style you’re looking for.

If you want to see how the color will look on your wall, Clare has peel-and-stick decals that make it helpful to decide on a color without having to paint over swatches later. All the paints are free of toxic carbon-based solvents, hazardous air pollutants, and EPA chemicals. Clare also offers kits that include the supplies you’ll need (tray, roller, brushes, and more), and shipping is free for orders over $100. Prices for a gallon of paint start at $64.

Shop Backdrop for ultra-curated paint picks.

Instead of hundreds of colors to choose from, Backdrop has curated 50 options they think look great on walls, dividing colors into broader categories like “neutral,” “light,” and “bold.” Like Clare, Backdrop will send you peel-and-stick samples so you can actually see what the color will look like on your wall. They also have a calculator to help you determine how much paint you’ll need.

Backdrop’s Essential Kit includes everything you need for a paint project, from brushes to rollers to tape. Shipments are free and arrive between one to three business days. Prices for a gallon of paint start at $49.

Shop Behr Express for affordable all-in-one kits.

You probably recognize Behr from the aisles of Home Depot, where they have hundreds of colors, but a smaller selection of its paints is available to order from the Behr Express online shop. There are 59 colors to choose from, and Behr also helpfully divides them into room categories so you can find their best picks for each space.

Like Clare and Backdrop, Behr also offers peel-and-stick paint samples, as well as an all-in-one kit that features all the supplies you’ll need for your paint project. A gallon of paint starts at just $40, and the price for the all-in-one kit is just $20.

And don’t forget the tools.

Generally, you’ll need a roller, a paint tray, a paint stirrer, tape, drop cloth, and a ladder. You can expect to spend at least $30 on supplies. This 11-piece paint roller kit goes for $15.75 on Amazon, and painter’s tape costs $7.88. The biggest expense is going to be a ladder if you don’t already have one; these easily top $100.
