Sunny Ravanbach is the founder of the VIP event planning company White Lilac. Known for transforming spaces into “dreamlands for one night,” Sunny and her team have recently waded into more “permanent” spaces, launching ShopWhiteLilac.com, an “online store that carries furniture, vintage found pieces, and small decor so people can get the White Lilac aesthetic in their own homes.” Her home in Dana Point, California is a light-filled, dreamy space that encapsulates her design style and serves as a living showroom of her new shop’s look.

Sunny writes: “I love the overall airy feeling of my home — the openness, the light, the smells and sounds of the ocean. I moved here from Santa Monica, and purchased the home while I was on a trip to Tulum, without even seeing it first!

I was on my way to Tulum and the house popped up in my searches, and I asked my agent to go look at it for me. I asked if there was a potential for an ocean view if I chose to build a second story one day, as the home is single story, and she said yes. I immediately put the offer in – she thought I was insane!”

Apartment Therapy Survey:

My Style: Eclectic, relaxed, and beachy

Inspiration: I love white, open spaces and beach-like comfort and coziness.

Favorite Element: I love the found vintage mirror circa 1890 from France. It’s in original condition, and brings a bit of unexpected grandeur into this otherwise casual beach cottage.

Proudest DIY: I didn’t do any DIY in this home…I save the DIY for work!

Biggest Indulgence: The vintage French mirror and the oversized ABC Home and Carpet pink rug in the master bedroom.
