Mia Schumacher doesn’t think finding a dream apartment should come easily. Hear her out. After extensive research, calling without answer, and submitting an application only to be ghosted for two weeks, it felt like a badge of honor to call this Winter Park, Florida, studio apartment her former home.

“So many people have asked me where it’s at or how to find it, but I’ve kept it to myself mostly because I want the next person in the studio to stumble upon it just like I did,” Mia, who shares on TikTok, admits. “It’s a part of the experience!”

At the time, even Mia’s mom was encouraging her to set her sights on another apartment, but the allure of the chase kept her going. (According to Mia, apartments in this area are seriously hard to come by.) Architectural details, like “vaulted ceilings, French doors, an industrial feel, and a massive balcony overlooking Hannibal Square and walking distance from Park Avenue” also drew Mia in.

The balcony, which only four units in the building have, is the “biggest stunner” in the studio apartment, Mia says. She refers to it as her “sanctuary,” noting that the large space afforded her ample ways to spend time outside — there was a table and chairs, plus another seating area.

Mia lived in the apartment for two years, and during that time, she imprinted her “eclectic and whimsical” style onto the once-blank walls. There are sentimental elements, too, like her gallery wall, which is the first thing that people used to ask about when visiting her beautiful home.
