This Kitchen Storage Solution Is Perfect for Small Spaces (It Eliminates Visual Clutter!)

After living in a string of one-bedroom Chicago apartments over the last decade, I’ve learned to get creative with storage solutions in my kitchen. Finding a home for spices, pantry items, cooking equipment, and other kitchen must-haves can feel like a puzzle. With my already-limited cabinet space currently at maximum capacity, I decided to take some cues from a lifestyle blogger who swears by a small-space miracle worker: the Yamazaki Home Three-Tier Sliding Drawer Seasoning Rack. 

In an Instagram Reel shared by Sarah Colussi, the creator showed how she uses the Yamazaki Home Three-Tier Sliding Drawer Seasoning Rack to contain all of her clutter right on her kitchen counter. The entire two-drawer design measures 19.59 inches in length and 20.67 inches in height, with a compact 4.92-inch width, which helps you make the most of any vertical dead space without taking up too much real estate on your counter or in your cupboards. There’s also a top shelf (2.17 inches in height) that’s ideal for storing spice jars or other small condiments, while the bottom drawer can hold up to 11 pounds and is perfect for storing bottles of cooking oil and taller food items, thanks to a 12.01-inch height. Meanwhile, Colussi used the second drawer — which measures 5.91 inches and can hold up to 5.5 pounds — as a snack receptacle for nuts, trail mix, and other similar items. 

It’s available in either a black or white steel material and is a bit on the pricey side — $185 — but it’s well worth the splurge if you want a storage solution that can hold a lot of stuff and look good while doing it. 

My favorite part about this organizer’s design is that the three levels basically create an additional mini cabinet’s worth of space in your kitchen — all while looking really sleek when displayed on your counter. However, you can also use these three-tier sliding drawers to maximize storage space in your current cabinets, or under your kitchen or bathroom sink. 

While these are marketed for kitchen use, I could easily see myself using one on my vanity for my makeup, or in my laundry room to hold detergents and other cleaning supplies. This Yamazaki Home organizer also has a magnetic surface, which means you can attach to-do and grocery lists, as well as magnetic strips for additional storage.
