You Oughta Know Alanis Morissette’s Brentwood House Is For Sale
You’re uninvited to Alanis Morissette’s house; the rocker is selling the property in the Brentwood area of Los Angeles that’s she’s called home since 1996. You oughta know how it looks inside.
Brentwood has a history of being a celeb favorite; names like Marilyn Monroe and Lea Michele have called the neighborhood home.
The Ironic singer unironically bought the place for $1.795 million in the ’90s, according to public records. The home was built in 1951 and has been “painstakingly remodeled over the years to be a stunning hybrid of Mediterranean with craftsman details,” according to the listing. There are seven bedrooms and six and a half baths in its 5,152 square feet.
The main living area showcases vaulted wood planked ceilings and a mezzanine level that overlooks the space, plus a floor to ceiling stone fireplace (the house has a total of five fireplaces). Each of the bedrooms have an en suite bathroom (two are downstairs and three are upstairs) and they all feature stone details. The master suite is a total of three rooms and two bathrooms, which the listing mentions could be used as “an office, gym, nursery, or two rooms could be guest quarters entered from outside staircase.”
Several of the rooms have balconies or open directly onto the patio space. Outside on the half-acre-plus lot, “there are beautiful park like grounds and a swimmers pool with pastoral views of hills and city lights.” The pool appears to have a hot tub as well, plus there’s a basketball court and a lawn with play areas for kids.
The property is listed for $5.495 million.
