This 323-Square-Foot Bangkok Studio Has a Hammock, a Dog, and Seriously Dreamy Vibes
Maryn, who goes by Min, lives in a 365-square-foot Bangkok studio that’s a perfect example of how small spaces can be transformed into peaceful and functional homes. As a graphic designer who has lived in the city for over six years and this studio for one year, Min has created a sanctuary that reflects her personality and creativity.

Min lives with her dog, Kuro, in a rented studio apartment she discovered while looking for pet-friendly accommodation. The space is in a terracotta building — a very unique color for Bangkok — filled with both cats and dogs. After nearly a year of living here, she has curated the apartment into a cozy retreat from busy city life.
“The atmosphere is warm, and it feels like home,” Min shares. “The studio-size room is just right for me as I have made the most of every square meter. With my favorite decorations, my favorite colors, and the warm lighting — everything in my room makes me happy and recharges my body and mind.”
Inspired by the outdoors, Min has mixed in camping furniture with wooden pieces, alongside a plant-filled balcony and hammock. This creates a space that feels connected to nature, amplified by high ceilings and tall windows, making the small space feel larger and more connected to the outside world.
Despite its compact size, Min’s been able to divide the room into distinct zones, meaning she has a space to work, a kitchen, a living area, and a dining area. Her furniture is also multifunctional and can be moved around easily, which allows her to adapt the layout in just five minutes for different needs, whether it’s hosting friends or creating more room for Kuro to play. Plus, she’s carefully chosen the lighting so she can set the mood to match what she needs from the apartment at any given moment.
Min’s creativity comes through not just in the way she has laid out the apartment and her curation of versatile furniture; her studio is also filled with artwork she’s created herself. She has a thoughtful approach to decorating, which plays a key role in creating a sense of calm, following her intuition, and drawing inspiration from Pinterest and ArchDaily.
It’s the sense of calm you feel immediately upon entering Min’s home and has been so important to her — having a space she can come home to and relax with Kuro is what replenishes her while living in such a big busy city. “Having a space where I can relax is very important for living in today’s hectic era. After working and meeting people outside, I need to come back to relax in my own space.”
More than anything, Min appreciates a space that’s her own. No matter the size, having a home that she can make her own and add her personality to is something that fills her with joy and gratitude.
