Tell us a little (or a lot) about your home and the people who live there: My husband and I use it as a pied-a-terre when we are in Dublin. It was very bland when we bought it but with some paint, and the right furniture, we have made it comfortable and spacious.

We have had dinner parties for eight people and have not felt cramped. People’s jaws have dropped when they saw the transformation! The bonus is the private courtyard!

My identity is practical. I like to explore color, so it’s also playful and creative.

Describe your home’s style in 5 words or less: Cozy, practical, efficient, comfortable, loved.

What is your favorite room and why? The living room/dining room. The color is gorgeous; the room is a fabulous combination of old furniture (my grandmother’s armchair), new (couch and dining chairs) and restored (chest of drawers from an auction — bought sight unseen). It works really well. The art is very personal too — one piece from an old family friend and the other from an amazing Dublin artist — both work so well with our colors.

What’s the last thing you bought (or found!) for your home? Bought without seeing the chest of drawers; and bought the dining chairs new.

Any advice for creating a home you love? Live in it first before painting and before purchasing expensive furniture.
