My chair used to be from my parents, and they gave it to me when I moved out. The desk is vintage, which I got for my birthday. The table is my biggest splurge for the house.

Tell us a little (or a lot) about your home and the people who live there: My house was built in 1909, and my landlord has completely renovated it in the original style. This is visible from the ornamental work on the ceiling to the light switches. I’m a big fan of this architectural style, and that was the main reason I fell in love with this house. When I moved in, I tried to make it a bit more contemporary with the use of modern artworks and colorful furniture.

View of the box bed! The curtains were already there, and gives it a very dramatic vibe.

I have a background in fashion and art studies and have loved interior design from an early age. I would describe my interior style as very eclectic and colorful, but I’m always trying to balance traditional items with modern and contemporary things.

The kitchen is completely renovated in the original style as well. My favorite part is this sink.

This house is really challenging to decorate since the style of the house itself is already a big statement. However, I think I made it work!

My favorite place: the comfy couch. The little cabinet in the background was a present from a dear friend.

What is your favorite room and why? Since the space is practically one big room and a separate kitchen, I would say that the living room is definitely my favorite. I love cozying up on my couch, lighting some candles, and watching series. Especially in the fall, this house really brings some cozy vibes.

I have an original fireplace in the room, where I display some modern art pieces. This changes up every now and then!

My bookcase holds my collection of art books and literature, which is very dear to me. In front, my Moustache stool!

What’s the last thing you bought (or found!) for your home? I had an empty corner that I really wanted to fill. Since my house is quite traditional, I’m always looking for fun and modern pieces to give it some contrast. Through Instagram, I found the perfect stool for my corner; the color is extremely rich and the style really works with the rest of my house. I love it so much!

A little sneak peek into my bathroom! There are French doors leading to it behind the couch.

Any advice for creating a home you love? Try to not follow trends too much, and buy stuff on instinct. I noticed that everything I love magically works together because of my instinct. Also, don’t be afraid of color! It really can tie everything together.
