Tell us a little (or a lot) about your home and the people who live there: Originally from Puerto Rico, I arrived to Duluth through my sister and the National Guard. I’m actually working as an imaging records clerk, and I’m an artist, painter, and home re-organization/designer enthusiast. I love decor and I have no specific rules except balance with everything like color, size and mass… when I’m done people are usually pleasantly surprised. My style has changed with age; I like natural wood, toned-down whites, and neutrals in all shades.
Describe your home’s style in 5 words or less: Farmhouse/Industrial/Eclectic
What is your favorite room and why? My living room. This is a studio; the bed is here as well, so I try to make it all work through color, neutral tones, and pops of orange/red and black. I believe things happen for a reason, and after moving back to Duluth, all the pieces have come together, all my finds click with one another, and this is the result: farmhouse/industrial/eclectic, with a touch of mid-century as well.
Any advice for creating a home you love? Things come to your life and space for a reason. Design for how it feels to you, the color, shape, size, and how you’re going to use it in your space. I’ve transformed this space to suit my needs but most importantly, how it makes me feel when I’m here. This is my home and if it gets me to smile when I get here at the end of the day… then I know I’m home!
