If there’s one home decor department that’s sorely lacking, IMHO, it’s renter-friendly sconces. This lighting style in general just makes so much sense for small spaces across the board (no tabletop room, no problem), but surprisingly few brands actually have pretty, wireless styles that don’t involve some sort of DIY component or added “hack” — like a stick-on puck light— to function without hardwiring.

I’ve previously sung the praises of TikTok-viral sconce brand Poplight, which hits the design-forward nail on the head, but I wanted something a little bit more traditional-looking-with-a-twist (my decorating M.O.) in my living room. I had a vision of a brass arm and simple shade that I could eventually swap out for something vintage or patterned. No matter where I shopped online, though, every sconce style looked the exact same. Some also claimed to be wireless, but that wouldn’t actually be the case after reading the product description. Seriously, my battery-operated, stylish sconce search took months, but I recently found the perfect pair from Amazon that exceeded all expectations and I couldn’t be happier.

What Are Amazon’s Adust Battery Operated Wall Sconces?

Sold in a matching pair, Amazon’s Adust sconces are dimmable wall-mounted lights that come with everything (truly, everything) you need to use and install them, drill-free. That includes two light bulbs with built-in batteries, which you can easily remove to recharge rather than disassembling the whole light or keeping it near an outlet 24/7. You’ll also get two chargers and a set of large circular adhesives that fit behind the base of the lights to attach them to the wall. Best of all, each sconce has its own remote control, too, featuring a whopping sixteen different light temperature options.

Why I Love Amazon’s Adust Battery Operated Wall Sconces

For starters, looks-wise, these lights couldn’t be more spot-on. The squiggle arm feels fresh and different from most brass styles on the market, and the base itself hardly takes up much wall space at just 5 inches around. I’ve also discovered that just one remote works across both sconces (from up to 32 feet away), so I don’t have to keep tabs on two separate ones. I love the convenience of being able to alternate between brightness levels with a quick push of a button, too.

Once I charged the light bulbs to their full six-hour battery life, these lamps were surprisingly convenient to set up, too. Their only downside? The included adhesive rounds weren’t sticky enough to support the full weight of the sconces (one started to fall off my wall), but the backing can accommodate a few Command Strips for a more secure attachment. The price has also gone up a tiny bit since I bought them, but I can’t recommend the Adust sconce set enough overall — it’s not every day you come across a renter-friendly wall light that’s wireless, stylish, hardware-free, remote-operated, and dimmable. You can also choose from two different shade options via Amazon, or pair these with an existing favorite you already have.
