Stay at This Airbnb-Slash-Alpaca Farm for Under $75 per Night
If you can dream it, you can find it on Airbnb. The vacation rental service gives you the chance to stay in some truly remarkable spaces. You can rent homes once owned by famous celebrities, stay overnight in converted train cars, and get cozy in the tiniest tiny houses you can imagine. If you like your vacation rentals to be an experience, we found your next destination: an alpaca ranch.
Here are the deets on this dream-come-true vacation spot: According to the Airbnb listing, which has five impressive stars from 300 glowing reviews, the property is a working alpaca and organic almond ranch. The 1-bedroom, 1-bathroom home is located at the Capaldi Ranch in Paso Robles, California, smack in the middle of Los Angeles and San Francisco. It’s a beautiful country getaway that’s just a short drive into town or to a number of local vineyards.
Based on the photos on Airbnb and that guests have shared on Instagram, the alpacas—plural—are truly just outside your back door. There’s a patio with a table, chairs, and alpacas galore beyond the fence. Just picture it: relaxing in a rocking chair, sipping your morning coffee or evening glass of wine, gazing out onto acres and acres of alpacas and almond trees. Heaven is the alpaca farm we didn’t know we needed.
The ranch owner, Daphne, also has horses, chickens, dogs, and cats, so animal lovers will be in hotel petting zoo heaven.
If you told us that we could stay at a scenic alpaca ranch, we’d assume the price would be too exorbitant to even consider, but it’s only a mere $74 a night. Knowing that, we’d assume the property would be booked up for months with no vacancies. Wrong again. While a night at the alpaca ranch is a hot commodity, at the time of this writing, the calendar has a surprising amount of openings. There are still dates available every upcoming month, so gather your animal-loving friends and plan your trip to wine country and alpaca country now.
