Advent calendars are fun and all, but if you’re looking for simpler ways to count down to Christmas, then Aldi has just the thing. Right now, the grocery chain is selling a chalkboard candle that allows you to write special messages, design your own label, or create your own Christmas countdown, all while enjoying one of five delicious scents.

The $6.99 candle is from the Aldi brand Huntington Home and comes in a jar that’s glazed with a chalkboard finish on the exterior. Each two-wick candle also comes with a stick of chalk to write with. The scents available are Vanilla Clove, Peach, Pink Peppercorn & Incense, Spiced Orange, and Black Currant & White Cedar.

“Happy advent season!” a TikTok user named Sara said in a recent video. “This year I grabbed [from Aldi] this chalkboard [candle] and I will just write on it each day what day it is. And we’re going to count up to 25 because that’ll be easier for me to keep track of.”

The chalkboard candles are only available in-store and are going for $6.99 each, so they definitely won’t last long.

Along with being a fun way to count down to Christmas, these candles would also make a super-fun teacher or host gift! Just write your season’s greetings on the outside before placing it in a gift basket or gift bag.

If your Aldi runs out of stock before you can grab one (it’s going fast!), you can instead check out this alternative candle from Etsy. It also comes with a chalkboard label and the green tint of the wax is awesome for Christmas.

The fragrance is a light and fresh hemp scent and the candle has been poured into a sealable glass jar.

Get personal this Christmas with your gift-giving or countdown to the big day in an entirely new way with Aldi’s new chalkboard candles. They’re totally unique and will fly off the shelves, so grab one while you can and get to chalking.
