This Rechargeable Amazon Lamp Has Estate-Sale Energy (No Cords, No Fuss!)

I’ve had my eye on stylish rechargeable lamps for the past several years now, and I’ve already woven a few into my home. One sits on my bathroom shelf to add much-needed brightness to a dimly lit rental bath, and another lamp has a home on my kitchen counter (which means I can skip the big light before I have my morning coffee). 

A couple of months ago, though, I came across yet another style of rechargeable cordless lamp that I just had to have. While it’s on the pricier side as far as Amazon buys go, I immediately fell for its chic bamboo base and brass shade. For $80, it looks totally designer-worthy — so I added it to my cart right away.

This lamp complements my living room — a space that I’ve decorated with many vintage and antique pieces. With its brass finish and unique, bamboo-look post, the lamp looks like something I snagged at an estate sale, so I assumed I’d style the lamp on my coffee table while entertaining (no one wants to host with the “big light” on anymore!) in the living room. But, much to my surprise, I’ve mainly been using the lamp in my bedroom (the beauty is you can move it instantly anywhere, of course).

The secretary desk in my bedroom doubles as my getting-ready station — it’s where I like to sit down to do my hair and makeup on days when I’m not rushing out the door. This ritual feels much more elevated and glam than haphazardly applying blush and mascara in my tiny New York City bathroom. The only problem with sitting here, though, is that there’s only one outlet nearby with just a single socket available, which is where I plug in my hair tools. (A word to the wise: Do not plug in high-voltage electronics, like the Dyson Airwrap, via an extension cord; you’ll likely blow a fuse!)

When I’m sitting at my desk getting ready for evening events, it can be quite dark — and that’s where this fabulous lamp comes into play. I love that I can set it on my desktop and easily click it on and off without dealing with any kind of cord or using up too much tabletop surface space. 

Not a desk-turned-vanity kind of person? Keep in mind that rechargeable lamps like these are excellent for other purposes. Given that game nights at home are on the rise, why not add a cute design like this one to your Mahjong table? You could even style it outdoors when hosting a dinner party. Just be sure to bring it inside once your evening wraps up so the metal lamp remains in tip-top shape. The possibilities with this one are endless!
