Pour Yourself a Purr-fect Cup of Tea from This Cat-Shaped Teapot
Calling all cat people and tea lovers. There’s a teapot we think you might need to see, and it’s on sale right now.
The Elise Teapot from Anthropologie is both whimsical and beautiful, meaning it’d be just as at home in an elegant kitchen as it would be in an over-the-top floral country-style tea house. It’s shaped like a plump, long-haired cat with a feathered tail for a handle and one arm lifted as a spout.
Along the cat’s back is a loose, watercolor-style blue and gold floral pattern. It matches the designs of the Elise Sugar Pot and the Elise Creamer, both of which feature mice. The creamer pot looks as if it’s being pushed by a mouse, while another mouse pops out of the top of the sugar pot.
“I bought this teapot a couple months back as a present to myself,” wrote one reviewer. “I LOVE IT. It’s quite large and holds a good amount of tea (I’d estimate 6-8 servings) and looks absolutely darling as a centerpiece on my table when I’m not using it. The head/lid is a little wobbly, but it doesn’t fall off when you pour so it doesn’t bother me at all. I only wish there was a matching teacup to go with the set!”
“As if drikining tea wasn’t calming enough, this kitty companion inspires you to curl up by the window and sip something warm,” wrote another. “Fully functional and with enough space to hold a few refills; you’re reminded there’s no need to rush today!”
Other reviewers warned that the tail-shaped handle is hot to the touch when the pot is full of tea, so if you buy the Elise Teapot for function rather than decoration, have a potholder handy. (May we suggest this one for an owl-and-the-pussycat theme?)
