As editors, we’re lucky enough to be sent products for testing (it’s how we find the most worth-it buys), but it’s not every day that an item has the entire team in a frenzy. Right now, it’s these FreshCut Paper Pop-Up Bouquets I spotted at Anthropologie. The bouquets have an affordable price point and vibrant, life-like designs — and after testing them IRL in our office, we were blown away by them. Suffice it to say that it’s the one gift we’ll all be getting our moms this Mother’s Day. Here’s why.

What Is the FreshCut Paper Pop-Up Bouquet Set?

The FreshCut Paper Pop-Up Bouquet Set is like the grown-up, designy version of those crafty pop-up cards that were popular when I was a kid. Everything, from petals and stems to the included vase, is made out of paper. It starts flat and pops up to the size of a real flower arrangement, making it a sculptural home decor piece and a brilliant way to send flowers to a long-distance loved one. The set includes a bouquet, vase, blank note card, and large mailing envelope to contain it all. The only thing you need to add is postage.

Anthro carries six bouquets: Orchid Oasis, French Poppies, Festive Tulips, Lemon Tree, Strawberry Blossom, and Japanese Cherry Blossom — and yes, they’re all gorgeous.

Why They’re the Perfect Mother’s Day Gift

No shade to store-bought or mail-order flowers, but these FreshCut Paper Pop-Up Bouquets have them beat in almost every category. For starters, they’ll last forever. The sturdy paper petals won’t wilt within days, and don’t require any water or attention. And at $15 apiece, they’re far more inexpensive than an actual arrangement, which can easily veer into the hundreds.

Their all-in-one design also takes the onus of setup off your giftee — no need to go looking for a vase, because the pop-up bouquets have one built in. And while I was admittedly expecting a more complex assembly, we were all shocked by how easily the bouquet pops up. With one push of the paper fold within the vase, the whole thing springs to life and takes on a three-dimensional look that’s surprisingly life-like from afar. We just know that it’ll get lots of “oohs” and “aahs” from the moms in our lives.

If you can believe it, the FreshCut Paper Pop-Up Bouquets are even more vibrant in person. The colorful petals and detailed vases are utterly eye-catching, and they’d look beautiful as a centerpiece or styled on a bookshelf. I also love that each bouquet comes with a matching card for a personalized message to Mom. And it’s packaged in a ready-to-mail envelope — which makes it perfect for those who are sending it to moms who live in another state.

As a one-and-done gift or a little extra something, the FreshCut Paper Pop-Up Bouquet is one of the sweetest Mother’s Day gifts we’ve come across. Which means they’re bound to sell fast, so buy yours before it’s too late.
