Name: Molly Torres Location: New York, New York (Midtown) Before I started school, my boyfriend and I found the perfect (and affordable) 520 square foot studio apartment in midtown last summer — centrally located to school, for me, and work, for him. Though I only had a minimal budget to work off of, I was extremely excited for the decorating challenge. When planning their kitchen overhaul, Manhattan homeowners Pallavi and Keyur had originally decided to leave their bathroom — which was original to the house and a little the worse for wear — as it was. But as the project progressed, they realized it was important to them that the style of their bathroom match up to the updated look they were pursuing in the rest of the apartment, and that by leaving all the fixture footprints in place, they could save money on the remodel.
