On March 23, Ashley Tisdale and husband Christopher French welcomed their first child together — a daughter named Jupiter Iris. Tisdale posted photos of and wrote about Jupiter’s minimalist nursery, which she furnished with both high and low-end pieces that will grow alongside baby Jupiter.

“Juju’s nursery,” Tisdale wrote in an April 1 Instagram post. “I had so much fun designing this space for Jupiter and I’m so excited to finally share it with you all!” She directed followers to her blog, Frenshe, to learn “all about how I landed on this calming, grounding, minimalistic space for our little girl.”

Tisdale said that she was mainly inspired by her daughter’s name and used the colors of the planet Jupiter to inspire the nursery design — the colors “just so happen to be earthy and not too girly,” Tisdale wrote on Frenshe.

Jupiter’s crib is a non-toxic piece from Kalon Studios (Caravan Crib, starts at $1,195) that converts into a toddler bed. “I also love the modern design of it!” Tisdale wrote. Once the crib was purchased, Tisdale said she and French focused on “mixing and matching different woods so we weren’t stuck in one area.”

They chose a light-toned dresser from Anthropologie (Handcarved Delhi Dresser, $1,598) and an antique Moroccan-style side table from Blackman Cruz.

Tisdale encouraged her readers to partake in “vintage shopping or choosing unconventional pieces to switch things up.” She did just that by picking out a vintage rug from Blue Parakeet and purchasing unfinished shelves from Etsy and painting them a fun color (Card Room Green by Farrow and Ball).

Once she and French got started on the process of picking items for Jupiter to grow up with, the direction became more defined. “When we first began this process, there were so many different ideas I had in mind for this space…but once we started actually designing it, it became so clear what it needed to be for Juju,” Tisdale wrote in her caption for the Frenshe Instagram post.  Jupiter is starting her life out with an incredible aesthetic.
