This Luxe Pink Candle Was Inspired By Barbie’s Dreamhouse
In honor of International Women’s Month, Barbie is teaming up with a slew of diverse, female-founded brands on the first-ever BarbieStyle Collection, a curated collection of limited edition products in fashion, beauty, home decor, and accessories all inspired by the iconic plastic trailblazer.
One of the additions to the collection is a luxe candle inspired by the Barbie Dreamhouse, Barbie’s fabulous fictional bachelorette pad. The Dream Land candle ($78) was created in collaboration with NETTE, a New York City based company that focuses on sustainably sourced candles. Housed in a pretty pink vessel, the soy and coconut wax blend is meant to evoke the same vibes you’d find in Barbie’s Dreamhouse, featuring notes of roasted chestnut, vanilla bean, pink pepper, and leatherwood for a uniquely sweet, dreamy scent to fill your space throughout its 60-hour burn time.
“Our collaboration candle with BarbieStyle is what we imagined Barbie’s Dreamhouse would smell like — notes of pink peppercorn, leatherwood, roasted chestnuts, and vanilla make for an absolute confection of a scent that is deep and complex without ever losing its sense of lightness and fun — just like Barbie, herself,” says NETTE founder Carol Han.
For each item sold during IWM (throughout March), Mattel will donate five percent of proceeds towards the Barbie Dream Gap Project, a multi-year global initiative created in 2018 to raise awareness around limiting factors that prevent girls from reaching their full potential. Since its creation, Mattel has committed over one million dollars through the Barbie Dream Gap Project to nonprofit partners on a mission to achieve equality by fueling education, leadership skills, and mentorship opportunities for girls all over the world.
