One of the most fun aspects of these makeover posts is getting to see all the '80s decor, especially 1980s bathrooms. Here we have a wall-to-wall frameless mirror, wood towel bar and light fixture, orange-y wood in general, and, most importantly, a cream marble seashell sink. Perhaps those will come back into fashion, but for now, it's gone! Let's explore how else this bathroom was updated.

This bathroom is now so clean and cheerful, as well as a bit timeless, since it has both modern (light fixture, faceted vases) and old-fashioned (beadboard vanity) elements. And even though I'm not a huge lover of pink, I am on record as thinking it's a fabulous color for a bathroom: It's playful, it's quirky, and it can cast a very flattering glow. This is the kid/guest bathroom in the home of Pretty Providence, meaning it's an even better room in which to try out a daring color. Pink goes well with bright white, so the white vanity, shelf, walls, towel rack, and old tiles pair perfectly with the new accent wall. The royal blue and lush greens are also intriguing when paired with pink.

Gray is absolutely fabulous with pink. It has a grounding presence that helps pink be its most sophisticated self while also letting the playfulness shine. This 30-year-old floor tile has been painted with two coats of paint and two coats of poly, so it should stand up reasonably well, at least for a while. If you have experience with painted bathroom tile, please share! This rug is really lovely, and I wish it came in a wrap and perhaps a pillow as well. It looks as cozy as it is cute, so good score Sarah!

Thank you, Sarah and Pretty Providence!
