We Found a Dupe of West Elm’s Chic Rattan Sideboard — and It’s $930 Cheaper!
Sometimes being thrifty is fun. There’s something undeniably satisfying, for example, about finishing your current bottle of shampoo before springing for a new one, or repairing a blemish on your dining chair’s upholstery instead of replacing the entire set altogether. But practicing mindful consumption is not so fun when it comes to shopping on a budget — especially if you need to furnish your home. You might have a sofa in mind that you’ve been coveting for a while, so when it falls far outside of your price range, that’s a real bummer.
Lucky for you, we’re always perusing the internet for budget-friendly versions of expensive furniture pieces, and we just found a version of West Elm’s Ida media console for $930 cheaper. The Bay Isle sideboard from Wayfair sports the same boho-chic aesthetic and promises to help declutter your living space in a snap. Be sure to grab it while it’s on sale!
What Is the Bay Isle Sideboard?
Perfect for almost any room, the Bay Isle sideboard adds texture to your space with its rattan-paneled doors, whose gold color contrasts nicely with the black manufactured wood frame. Matching gold legs and door pulls complete the design. But what’s most important is that the Wayfair sideboard offers more than enough storage space regardless of what you’re hoping to stow inside it. Place the sideboard up against your sofa to hide kids’ toys, books, and extra blankets. Keep it in the dining room for your serveware and table linens. Or use it as intended and keep your media equipment tucked away on its six adjustable shelves. The sideboard would also make a great entryway table, as long as your entryway has space for its 71-inch-long frame.
Similar to the Bay Isle sideboard, West Elm’s Ida console features cord escapes in the back for easy management, although not as many. Still, you can obviously expect the pricier version to be of higher quality than the Wayfair model; it’s made of sturdy kiln-dried wood, after all. But if you never see yourself spending more than $1,000 on a media console, it’s nice to have a more affordable option. Additionally, both consoles have roughly the same dimensions, so you’re not missing out on storage space if you buy the less expensive model.

It wouldn’t be accurate to say that the Bay Isle sideboard will hold up as well as the Ida console in the long run, but it achieves the same visual effect and will similarly make your space look infinitely more organized. In any case, both consoles are currently on sale, so be sure to grab whichever one you prefer while the discounts are live.
