TikTok Is Going Wild for This Unbelievably Comfy Reading Chair – and We Found a Dupe That’s Almost $400 Cheaper!

Even though my TikTok for-you page is technically curated to fit my interests, it’s rare that I scroll upon a video and think, “This really is for me.” Anyone who knows me will tell you that I love to sit and lounge and nap — pretty much any leisure activity that entails resting in a horizontal position. So when the algorithm blessed me with this TikTok video of a woman snuggling up in an oversized reading chair, it truly felt personal. Of course, I immediately opened the comments to see if the creator had detailed where she got the chair, and I wasn’t surprised to find that thousands of other viewers wanted to know the same thing. Luckily, the original poster responded to a comment with the name of the chair: the Stupendous oversized chaise from Ashley.

Although Ashley is known for well-made yet relatively affordable furniture, the Stupendous chaise will cost you a pretty penny at $1,000. But after a bit of digging, we managed to find a similar version on Wayfair for almost $400 less! The Stigler chaise lounge from Wayfair is on sale for $610 and is bound to give you the same ultra-comfy lounging experience, right in time for fall.

Both the Ashley and Wayfair loungers sport the same oversized silhouettes with extending chaises that guarantee plenty of legroom. In fact, Wayfair reviewers note that the Stigler chaise can fit two adults at once without making you sacrifice comfort. And apparently, if you remove its accent pillows, the Stigler is large enough to double as a bed. You’ll want to take note of the chair’s 67-inch length and 58-inch width; some reviewers also noted that it looks bigger in person than they expected. If you live in a small space and already have a sofa, the chaise might prove too large. But it would also make a wonderful addition to your bedroom, home office, or other favorite reading corner.

The Stupendous chaise from Ashley might be a tad more convenient than the Stigler because of its built-in cup holders and USB charging ports. But the two chairs have similarly soft ribbed fabric and wide arms, and they’re the same length. So, no matter which one you opt for, you’re guaranteed an unmatched lounging experience.
