Like many of us, Weiya was searching for an affordable solution for her storage woes, searching for a piece which could work as a landing strip for her personal belongings (keys, diaper bag, etc), while also provide additional storage underneath, and surface area for her laptop. She found her solution at IKEA, but decided to take the $30 changing table another level with some DIY customization…

Originally looking for a small storage solution for my diaper bag and keys (because our house lacks a mudroom or entry space), my husband and I ended up coming home with this Sniglar changing table! With the help of some paint, cute shelf-liners, fabric containers, and wood, I transformed this simple piece into a small laptop workspace for our bedroom – complete with a spot for my diaper bag and keys!

The finished project looks fantastic and it appears Weiya could further customize the setup by elevating it further into a standing desk if desired (although, considering mothers deserving every opportunity to relax, perhaps finding an adjustable height task chair is the better solution).
