A renovation project can be difficult and frustrating, but it’s also incredibly rewarding especially once you see the before-and-after-photos.

Over on Instagram, an account called Before After Design curates pics of home renovations, showing their neglected pre-restoration state in one photo, and then their amazing transformation the next. Each featured property is a testament to what a bit of imagination, hard work, and a talented interior designer can do.

For instance, check out this muddy backyard. It’s hard to believe that it’s still the same yard in the second pic, as it now resembles a lounge area for a boutique hotel or restaurant.
