Marty and her husband found a unique way to upgrade their backslash using reused materials, and it didn’t cost them a dime. You’ll never guess what they did.

Marty says, “My husband took some castoff wood from a neighbor’s curb and turned it into a beautiful backsplash worthy of a beach cottage.”

They sanded each piece to eliminate splinters and then sprayed the wood with an aerosol primer. They nailed the boards into place on the top and bottom, but didn’t fill any nail holes or knots, preferring to let the beautiful character of the weathered wood shine. Says Marty, “The more imperfection the better!”

Thank you Marty!
