Rosanna’s wanted to make the most of the natural light in her guest bedroom and used the One Room Challenge as a great excuse to do so. With a mere six weeks of time and fifteen hundred dollars, she was able to give the space a light and airy look, that played to the room’s strengths. The result is a guest room that is welcoming, breezy and full of thoughtful small touches.

From Rosanna: The “before” was a pretty simple spare bedroom that I planned on converting into a guest bedroom. It is not small, but not that large either, measuring about 11 feet x 13.5 feet with two windows in the corner. It does get some nice natural light.

We moved in a couple of years ago and never got around to finishing the guest bedroom, so I took the One Room Challenge as an opportunity to get it done. It took six weeks and I budgeted to do it under $1,500 and I came in just under.

I love how light and airy it feels which was a goal. I love the bright and happy splashes of colors in the accessories.

Rosanna’s words of wisdom: Sometimes it is all about the accessories and the finishing touches. You can have very simple and versatile furniture and add personality through smaller, less big-commitment items.

Thank you so much, Rosanna! You can see more of this project and many others on Rosanna’s blog, Eggshell Home.
