Before & After: A “Clean and Modern” Bathroom for $2,000
Patience truly is a virtue, as demonstrated by Megan’s two phase bathroom remodel. By keeping one eye on savings and one eye on design, she was able to create a tastefully modern space that didn’t break the bank.
From Megan: When we moved into our 1960s home seven years ago, the bathroom was an eyesore. The blue tile and wallpaper were original to the home and they needed to go! The problem was that we didn’t have a budget to completely remodel the space. We did our best by painting the walls and vanity and adding new light fixtures. Seven years later, we finally had set aside a small budget to give the bathroom a complete overhaul!
With very little experience, we were able to completely remodel the bathroom ourselves, all staying within our tiny budget of $2,000. We saved money by comparing prices, finding things on clearance and borrowing tools from friends. We went with basic tile to save a buck, but it also gives the bathroom a clean and modern feel that will go with any decor which is key if we sell our house in the future!
