It’s not uncommon to work on every room in your home before you get to your bedroom since it’s a room guests often don’t see. This was the case with Autumn and Justin whose Michigan home we toured last year. They felt great about the rest of their home, but really wanted a “grown up” master bedroom. Seems like they saved the best for last…

Ta da! Lighter, brighter and with a soothing, calm vibe. Let’s talk about what Autumn and Justin did here, all diys, too: painted most of the walls a soft blue, created a paneled wall behind the bed, upholstered the bed, added new white curtains, nightstands and accessories.

Oh, I almost forgot, the artwork above the bed is also a diy project. Neither of them has any special art training, but they made it together as a Valentine’s Day project (awww…)

When I wrote Autumn to ask about sharing this project she mentioned that she was bummed that they hadn’t tackled their bedroom before their Apartment Therapy House Tour. One word, Autumn: redemption!

Visit their blog Fuchsia Design to see more photos of their bedroom as well as links to how-to’s for many of the projects in this room.
